We Honor Veterans Program
Our work on behalf of Veterans reflects our organization's commitment to ensuring Veterans have access to quality end-of-life care.
We Honor Veterans is an initiative supported by the Holyoke VNA & Hospice Life Care that is focused on reaching out to veterans in the areas we serve by providing support, information, and education of services that are available to them. It is also our mission to acknowledge the service rendered to our country by the men and women who have given so much to all of us and to offer them our deepest and sincerest expression of appreciation and thanks for that service. The program teaches respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement in order to comfort patients with a history of military service and possibly physical or psychological trauma. Other activities include learning more about Veterans and VA services, providing veteran-centric care as well as the educating of hospice staff and volunteers and reaching out to Veterans and VA organizations in the community.
At this time, we are involved in reaching out to veterans in several community agencies and continue to provide education and support whenever and wherever possible. We Honor Veterans is sponsored and supported by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with Veteran Affairs.
